Mystic Falls Days 1-3

Damon was walking into the Mystic Grill when his cell phone started to ring, he lout out an annoyed grunt then pulled it out of his pocket. "How may I help you, Miss Elena?" He asked mockingly, he was trying to act like her call was annoying him.

He opened the door to the grill and his eyes met the back of his friend Alaric's head. Friend, what a weird word to use to describe Alaric - they weren't friends, drinking partners who sometimes worked together to kill vampires who went after Elena, sure - but they were nothing more than that.

"Is Stefan at the boarding house?" Elena asked as Damon made his way over to the bar stool next to his drinking partner - "He should be there writing in his journal but if he's not then he's out eating bunnies." He told her a smirk rising on his lips when he heard Elena let out an annoyed sigh.

"Alright, I'm heading over there now since he's apparently too busy to answer his phone." Elena said then hung up the phone. Damon just shook his head then turned to look at Alaric who was staring at him.

"Elena?" Alaric asked, Damon just nodded as a reply.

"What did she want?" Alaric mumbled as he took a sip of his bourbon.

Damon looked up at the bartender and said, "The usual." Before turning his attention back to Alaric, "She wanted to know where my baby brother was." He said rolling his eyes slightly.

"Ah." Alaric simply replied, Damon figured the guy wasn't really in the talking mood today which most likely meant something terrible happened earlier that day.

"What's got you in the mood to drown your sorrows in alcohol?" Damon asked smirking slightly at the man next to him.

"Just some problems with Jenna, she thinks I'm keeping secrets from her." Alaric's shoulders went upwards a bit as if he was going to shrug but was too tired to even do so.

"Well you kind of are keeping secrets from her; Seeing as she knows nothing about the fact that this town is basically a hang out for the supernatural." Damon said chuckling slightly at his own words.

The bartender brought the drink over to Damon and he chugged half of it down right away.

Alaric changed the subject, "So what about you?" He asked tilting his head to the side as he stared at Damon, "What made you decide to come drown your sorrows in alcohol?" Alaric asked almost mocking Damon by repeating his words.

"Making sure no one even goes near Elena is a difficult job, I never thought I'd be a body guard." Damon said, his face was completely serious but you could tell by his eyes that he had to fight the urge to smirk.

"Then move on, there's other girls out there and I'm pretty sure Stefan can take care of her on his own." Alaric suggested as he chugged down some of his bourbon as well.

"Thanks for the dating advice Ric, but it's not that simple." Damon mumbled the last part under his breath then chugged the rest of his bourbon down.

Alaric nodded to show that he understood where the guy was coming from, "Women are complicated." He simply added which earned a laugh from Damon.

"Yeah they are way too complicated." Damon said as he stared down at the empty glass in his hand and twisted it around.

Elena parked her car in front of the boarding house and was surprised to see there were no other cars any where near the place. She got out of the car, a frown on her lips as she walked towards the front door.

She knocked on the door several times and after five minutes of knocking and waiting impatiently she pushed the door open only to see that it was unlocked.

She made her way into the place and started to walk towards the stairs to check Stefan's bedroom first but then she heard a scream. A girl was screaming as if she was crying for her life. Elena followed the noise into the living room of the boarding house where she saw Stefan.

But Stefan wasn't writing in his journal like Damon said he most likely would be doing - he was drinking blood and it wasn't from blood bags, it was from a teenage girl.

Stefan dropped the girl's lifeless body to the floor then turned around slowly until he was facing Elena - the two of them stood there in complete shock for a few moments that seemed like they would last forever.

"Stefan...." Elena started to say as she stared at anything but his face. There was blood dripping off of his shirt which was ripped open for some unknown reason, she finally allowed herself to look up at his face and his mouth was wide open with blood dripping out of it. Blood. There was so much blood. There was blood all over Stefan, blood dripping out of the innocent girl and onto the floor. Elena couldn't look any longer she quickly turned away and when she turned back around - Stefan was gone.

The two guys just sat there in silence for a few moments until Damon's phone started ringing again.

Damon sighed then started to take it out of his pocket, "You see, I would turn this damn thing off but then Elena would end up getting killed by some lunatic vampire." He told Ric who just laughed at him.

"Speaking of Elena..." Damon said right before he answered his phone, "And what gives me the pleasure of getting a call from you twice in one night?" Damon asked a smirk rising on his lips. It quickly disappeared and turned into a frown.

"Slow down, Elena." Damon said as he tried to get her to calm down.

"I went to see Stefan like I said and blood there's lots of blood." Damon could hear the worry and panic in the girl's voice.

"What are you talking about?" Damon asked his voice rising as he tried to get an answer out of Elena.

"He killed her, Damon. She's dead." Elena said and after that all Damon heard from the other side of the phone was the sound of Elena breathing heavily and crying.

"I'll be right there." He told her then hung up the phone.

He looked over at Ric who was giving him a look as if to say 'What the hell is going on' But he didn't have time to fill the guy in he had to get to Elena. He stood up from the bar stool and started to make his way out of the grill.

"Come on, Bonnie, It's right down the street we don't need to drive." Caroline said as she pulled on her friend's hand in order to get her out of the house.

"Fine." Bonnie said as she finally managed to pull her hand away from the little blond vampire, Caroline must have willingly gave her hand up because other wise Bonnie wouldn't have anywhere near the strength to pull her hand away.

The two girls started to walk down the street towards the Mystic Grill, it was only quit for a couple of seconds before Bonnie started to talk, "So how is everything with Tyler?" The brown haired witch asked as she tilted her head to the side.

Caroline struggled to answer for a second but then quickly mumbled out, "Good, everything is going good!" The blond haired girl obviously wasn't in the mood to talk about relationships but her friend didn't care.

"Come on, Caroline." Bonnie said trying to get Caroline to admit how everything was really going with Tyler. They could see the grill from where they were walking now, they would be there in a few minutes. "I'm your best friend you can talk to me about boys." Bonnie added which some how pulled the words out of Caroline's throat.

"Okay, things are a bit complicated." She admitted nodding her head as if that was the first time she ever admitted that her relationship with Tyler wasn't rainbows and unicorns, "We are always fighting anymore." She shrugged her shoulders then let out a breath that she didn't even realize she was holding in.

"I'm sure the two of you will work it out." Bonnie told her friend, but Caroline could tell she was just saying that to make her feel better, A vampire and a werewolf doesn't exactly make a picture perfect couple.

They were standing in front of the grill now, "Damon and Alaric are in there, they are probably getting drunk as always." Caroline informed her friend. The two of them were about to walk in when Caroline heard two guys talking and laughing as they walked towards the door of the Grill as well.

Caroline turned around to face them when she didn't recognize the voices, she knew basically everyone in this town so it was strange that she didn't even recognize them when she saw their faces.

The two guys stopped walking when they stood right next to where Caroline and Bonnie were standing. "Hello ladies." The one with messy brown hair said as he smiled at them, "I'm Kol and this is my brother Klaus." He said pointing over at the man next to him.

You could never tell that they were brothers, they looked nothing alike. "Nice to meet you but if you don't mind we are about to go into this place and get a drink, you can join us if you'd like." The guy Kol introduced as Klaus spoke as he stared straight at Caroline.

Caroline felt her cheeks turn a rosy pink color as the man's attention stayed on her the entire time, "No thanks." Bonnie spoke before Caroline could even say anything.

Bonnie grabbed a hold of Caroline's hand and started to pull her into the grill. Right before Caroline allowed her friend to pull her into the grill she caught sight of Klaus smiling at her, his dimples were showing.

"What was that all about? You looked like you were staring at a magical unicorn or something with those lovey dovey eyes of yours." Her friend asked as they walked into the front of the grill. Caroline just shrugged then her eyes widened when she saw Damon start running out of the grill.

"Where is he going?" Caroline asked out loud, her curiosity made her want to run after him and find out but right when she was about to use her vamp speed and follow him - the two guys with what sounded like British accents walked into the grill.

Kol walked into the grill and his eyes immediately landed on the little blond girl - she could be a very good distraction from Katherine; he had been trying to find a girl that could take his mind off of the bitchy vampire but when ever he tried to get with a girl they were never good enough; this girl though, she was stunning.

"Isn't she stunning?" He heard his brother's voice whisper in his ear, it was almost as if he had read his mind. Kol fought off a smile that was spreading on his lips as he stared at the girl and quickly turned around until he was facing his brother.

"I call dibs." Kol said tilting his head to the side and smiling proudly to himself.

"We aren't twelve, Kol. Why don't we let the girl decide who she would rather have." Klaus said, of course he would try to be the reasonable one, he always was after all.

Kol nodded his head, "What ever you want, brother." Kol said then he started to make his way over to where the two girls were sitting.

"Hello again, Ladies." Kol said smiling kindly to the two of them.

"Hi, you're Kol right?" The blond girl asked as she smiled politely back at him.

"That is correct, you see my brother over there thinks that I have no chance with you." He said glancing at his  brother then turning his attention back to the blond haired girl as he raised his eyebrows slightly.

The blond girl just giggled and shook her head, "You might have a chance, if I didn't have a boyfriend." She informed him, Kol frowned, "Of course you ahve a boyfriend, what guy wouldn't want to be with such a beautiful girl like you?" Kol said which made the girl's cheeks turn a bright red color.

"Like she just said, she has a boyfriend so if you could leave us alone now, that would be fantastic!" The girl with brown skin and curly hair said, Kol came to the conclusion that he shouldn't even try to make a move on her.

"I apologize if I'm bothering you." He said turning his attention back to the blond haired girl, "But could I at least know your name?" He asked, tilting his head to the side as he began to wonder what the girl's name could possibly be.

"My name is Caroline." She said smiling at him which only caused Kol to smile even more than before, he couldn't help it the girl's smile was contagious. He couldn't imagine anyone having a straight face when that girl was smiling at them.

"Caroline." He mumbled under his breath to test out her name, "That's a wonderful name." He said then turned around because he felt eyes on him, he saw his brother staring at them and rolled his eyes slightly.

"Well, I'll see you around Caroline." He said before walking away from the table and over to where his brother was standing.

"You were totally flirting with him." Bonnie said as she crossed her arms across her chest and glared at the two men who were still staring in their direction.

"I was not, I was just being nice which is something that you might want to learn how to be, I'm pretty sure being nice to someone you don't even know wouldn't kill you." Caroline started to rant at her friend, which was something she did very often.

"I don't know, I just get a bad vibe about the two of them." Bonnie said allowing her gaze to finally leave the two of them as her attention went back to her friend.

"It's not like we will ever speak to them again, they are probably visiting town because I never saw them before in my life." Caroline said shrugging her shoulders but she couldn't help but to frown slightly as she thought about never speaking to the messy haired guy again.

"That's true, I guess I'll let it go." Bonnie said, "Can we order now?" She asked.

"Yes, I'm starving!" Caroline said a little bit to loud causing the two girls to laugh.

Damon made his way into the boarding house and the smell of blood filled his senses right away, he panicked for a second but he quickly calmed himself down when he realized it wasn't Elena's blood - he knew what her blood smelt like, it was sweet and nothing like the smell he smelt right now.

"Elena!" He yelled out as he walked towards the smell of the blood, He knew where she was he could hear her sniffles from her tears and he could tell that she was in the same room as the blood.

Damon made his way into what Stefan and him liked to call the "living room" Even though they didn't even go into the room very often. The first thing he saw when he walked into the room was a girl, a dead girl, with a bite on her neck and several bite marks on her arms. There was blood all over the carpet and Damon had to ignore his neat freak thoughts in order to deal with what was going on.

His eyes finally landed on the reason he rushed over here so quickly - "Elena." He said softly as he walked over to the girl who was holding the dead body in her arms. There was blood all over her clothes and arms, she was most likely trying to help the girl but it was already too late.

Damon knelt down next to her and slid her arms off of the girl's body, he placed her hands in his and stared into her chocolate brown eyes. The girl was obviously in shock, he right away came to the realization that she must have seen what happened but he knew he shouldn't ask her for details right away.

He stared at her for a few more seconds before whispering softly, "Come on, let's go get you cleaned up." Damon started to help her stand up, she didn't resist but she wasn't much help either.

He eventually decided to just take her in his arms seeing as the girl was struggling to even stand up, he carried her bridal style towards his bathroom. He could feel her heart beating rapidly against his chest, he watched carefully as her eyes closed and a single tear fell out of them.

He walked through his bedroom and into his bathroom where he sat her down on the sink. He let out a sigh, "Are you okay?" He asked, he was really hoping that the shock would wear off soon but as he walked upstairs he could only come to a single explanation of what she saw happening and if that's really what happened then he couldn't blame the girl for being so shocked.

"I'll be fine." Elena whispered softly, "Thank you for coming." She added  as she whipped a piece of hair away from her eyes.

"Hey, it's basically my job to take care of you." Damon said which made a small smile appear on the girl's face.

"I'm not  baby, Damon." Elena said rolling her eyes which only made Damon smile because he was glad that she was acting some what like her normal self and not like someone in complete shock.

"I know you aren't, you're the bravest girl I know; but no matter what you can call me if you need something, you don't have to be afraid that I'll look down on you for needing someone to save you from some crazy vampire or even just someone to talk to." Damon said staring straight at her.

Elena's cheeks turned a light pink, "You've changed since I first met you." She mumbled with out realizing what she was saying.

Damon grabbed a wash cloth off of the sink and started to wet it in the sink then turned back towards Elena, "Is that a bad thing?" He asked raising his eyebrows at her.

"No, it's good." She smiled but quickly looked away when her eyes met his, she looked down at the blood all over her, "I'm a mess, I was making sure that she was really...dead." Elena said as she looked back up at Damon.

"Are you ready to tell me what happened?" He asked as he handed her the wash cloth so that she could wash the blood off of her arms.

Elena began to wash the blood off, she didn't reply until her arms were completely clean; "Stefan killed her, I walked in and he was drinking her blood. He panicked and ran away." Elena said shrugging her shoulders slightly.

Damon could see the tears building up in the girl's eyes and knew that any second now she would start crying.

"Hey, I'll find him okay?" Damon told her, "I'll start looking for him right now if you want." Damon said and Elena's eyes widened right away.

She quickly jumped off of the sink as she shook her head rapidly, "Don't leave me." She said as tears started streaming down her cheeks again.

Damon sighed, he was trying to stop her from crying and he ended up doing the opposite. He walked closer to her and hesitated slightly before wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close to him. Her arms were shaking as they wrapped around his waist, her arms hung onto the back of his t-shirt tightly.

"I won't leave you." He whispered into her ear, "You can stay here tonight if you want." He told her, she pulled away slowly.

"I have some clothes in Stefan's room." She mumbled as she started to whip tears off of her cheeks.

"Alright you can go get changed then get some rest, if you can't sleep I'll be in here." He told her, she just nodded her head, gave him a weak smile, then walked towards Stefan's room.

Elena walked into Stefan’s room and fought back the tears that were fighting to burst out, she was stronger than that; at least that’s what she kept telling herself. She pulled open a drawer and grabbed a t-shirt and shorts out of her pile of clothes. She quickly slipped off her blood covered clothes and then slipped the clean ones on - it felt so much better to not have that girl’s blood on her. It helped her try to pretend that none of that actually happened, that it was all just a bad dream.

She stood in front of Stefan’s bed and thought about what to do. She could just lay down on Stefan’s bed and try to get some sleep but that wouldn’t help her very much with the whole plan to ‘Pretend it was all just a bad dream.’ She could sleep in one of the guests rooms but she really didn’t want to be alone, not after what happened.

She realized that she was just making up reasons for why she should go into Damon’s room, she raised her eyebrows to herself when she realized that his company made her feel safe. Safe, she just wanted to feel safe - of course she felt safe with Damon, he was her friend and he always protected her. There was absolutely nothing wrong with her seeking out his company in order to feel safe.

After convincing herself that it was fine to go into Damon’s room she made her way back towards where she came from before she went to get changed. She knocked on his door which he must have closed in order to get changed as well and waited a few seconds before he opened the door. Her eyes widened when he opened the door and his shirt was unbuttoned showing his entire naked chest.

“Can I sleep in here?” She asked him innocently with her bottom lip pouted out slightly.

Damon was shocked at first but he nodded, "Of course." He said as he stood away from the door so that she could walk in.

Elena's eyes widened as she looked around his room, she didn't pay much attention the first time she came in but like they always say a person's bedroom tells you a lot about them and her curiosity got the best of her.

"You have a really nice room." She complimented him as he watched her look around.

"Truthfully, I expected it to be a mess." She said as she turned around and smiled at him, he just rolled his eyes but there was a smile on his face that showed that he wasn't really annoyed.

She picked up a book off of a table that was next to his bed, "Call of the wild?" She asked him surprised by the kind of books he had, she smiled as she picked up the next book, "Pride and prejudice." She turned back around towards him.

"Don't tell me you are going to make fun of the kind of books I read." Damon whined as he walked over towards her.

"Trust me, I'm not making fun of you, I love these books. I was just...." She struggled to find the right word, "Surprised." She said nodding to herself.

"I like classics." He informed her as he took the books out of her hand and sat them back down on the desk.

"That makes sense seeing as you were around when the books were wrote." Elena teased causing Damon to laugh.

"You keep surprising me." She told him as her doe eyes stared straight into his blue ones - Damon was about to reply but she started talking again before he could. "I guess there's just a lot I don't know about you." She said shrugging then making her way over towards his bed.

She laid down in the middle of the bed, Damon tilted his head to the side, "You know, you're going to have to make room for me." He teased her a smirk on his lips, Elena just giggled then scooted over a bit so that Damon could lay down.

He got in the bed and laid down next to the doe eyed girl, "You surprise me too." He whispered after a few seconds if silence.

"How?" She asked curiously, she turned over on her side so that she was facing him.

"Well for one, I didn't expect you to ever sleep in my room." He said causing both of them to laugh.

"The unexpected can happen, Damon." She informed him which only made his smile grow bigger, We could happen, he thought to himself before closing his eyes.

"I know." He told her.

She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, "Thanks for being a good friend." She said as Damon's eyes opened slowly.

"No need to thank me." He said before turning off the lamp next to his bed.

"Good night, Elena." He whispered softly as he watched her eyes begin to close.

Caroline was walking down the street towards her house by herself seeing as Bonnie's house was in the opposite direction as hers. She hadn't even been walking very far when she heard his voice again - "I don't think a beautiful girl like you should be walking home by herself at this hour of the night." She could tell by the sound of his voice that he was standing right behind her, she turned around slowly and even though she should have been creeped out that he was following her she couldn't help but smile at him.

"Well, my friend's house is the opposite direction as mine." She informed him as he walked up next to her.

"Ah, I don't think your friend liked me very much." He said raising his eyebrows and smiling at her.

"She doesn't like many people at first, I wouldn't take it personally." She told him which only made him laugh.

It was silent for a couple of moments, but it wasn't awkward because the two of them had started walking again. "I never saw you around before, are you visiting family or something?" She asked tilting her head to the side so that she could look at him - she couldn't help but admire his features, his eyes were a dark brown color, his lips looked soft and pink, his hair was messy but yet he looked incredibly handsome.

Kol shook his head, "No, we have a house here; I live with my brother and sister. We all decided to come back to Mystic Falls recently." He told her.

Caroline nodded, "That makes since." She told him giggling slightly.

The two of them walked in silence for a few moments, but Caroline kept glancing at him out of the corner of her eye and every time she did, he was staring straight at her.

"This is my house." She said stopping in front of the drive way of one of the houses.

"Well, I'll see you.." Kol started to say but was distracted when the girl grabbed a hold of his hand.

"Don't run away so fast, I was going to give you my number earlier but I think Bonnie would have murdered me right then and there." She said rolling her eyes even though she was smiling.

Kol's eyes widened but he quickly took his phone out of his pocket and handed it to her - he watched carefully as she typed a number in then handed it back.

"Call me sometime." She told him a flirty smile on her lips, she turned around and started to walk towards her front door.

"I thought you had a boyfriend!" He shouted at her but she didn't turn around she just yelled back, "I do, right now, who knows how long that will last." Then walked into her house with out even glancing back at the messy haired boy.

Caroline woke up the next morning when the sun started to shine through her bedroom window, she at up quickly with a huge smile on her face. He might call me today was the only thing she could manage to think as she stood up from the bed and looked in the mirror at her hair which was a curly mess.

She clicked a few buttons on her i-phone until the song 'Something about the sunshine' started playing, she choice an up beat song hoping that it would put her in a good mood even though she was already in one.

She started to get dressed as she sang along to the song, "There's something about the sunshine baby, I see you in a whole new light, out of this world for the first time baby!" She was basically yelling the words this time, she giggled to herself as she turned around towards her bedroom door when she heard someone laughing.

She almost jumped out of her sink when she saw him standing there, "Kol!" She shouted, "What are you doing in here?" She asked him as she attempted to cover herself up because she was only in a pair of short shorts and a tang top.

Kol chuckled, "You're adorable, and to answer your question, your mom let me in." He said raising his eyebrows as he looked her up and down quickly before staring straight into her eyes. Even from across the room, looking into his eyes made her nervous.

She rolled her eyes, "Did you miss me already?" She teased as she grabbed her i-phone and turned the music off.

"I actually did." He said as he walked over towards where she was standing, he was basically standing right in front of her now. His presence made her nervous and strangely it wasn't because she barley knew the guy, it was because of how he made her feel even though she knew she shouldn't feel that way about a guy she barley knew especially when she had a boyfriend.

"Think of Tyler." She mumbled under her breath with out even realizing she was speaking aloud.

Kol raised his eyebrows, "Tyler?" He asked suspiciously.

"My boyfriend." She mumbled.

"Oh right." Kol nodded, "Well, I just wanted to see if you wanted to go get breakfast, you know, as friends." He suggested as he waited for her reply he ran his hand though his hair nervously.

Damon slowly opened his eyes as the sun began to shine through the windows in his bedroom, he glanced down to see that Elena's head was on his chest, her little hands were holding on tightly to his shirt even though it was unbuttoned. He was about to go back to sleep instead of waking her but then he felt her nuzzle up against him and right after than her mouth opened into an o as she yawned.

"Morning." He whispered as her eyes began to open.

Elena panicked, she quickly let go of Damon's shirt and pushed herself down onto the mattress. She slowly sat up on the bed, "Sorry, I didn't mean to." She shrugged helplessly. "I'm a cuddly person." She said giggling at her own choice of words.

Damon couldn't help but smile as she laughed, he was glad that she was laughing, but he figured that wouldn't last long she probably just hasn't gotten the chance to think about what happened.

"I'm not complaining." He said raising his eyebrows and doing his famous eye thing that Elena always said she hates.

Elena picked up one of the pillows that was next to her and smacked him in the face with it, "Yeah, well, I'm complaining, that's just weird, friends don't cuddle." She said but she couldn't keep the smile off of her face as he stared at her smiling.

"What are you smiling about?" She asked curiously, her eyes widened as she prepared for a smart ass reply.

"We cuddled so that makes us more than friends?" He asked raising his eyebrows and smirking at her.

"No!" She pouted out her bottom lip then frowned at him, "If I enjoyed the cuddling then maybe, but I found it weird!" She informed him.

"It looked like you were enjoying it." He said chuckling slightly.

That earned him another hit in the face with the pillow, Elena laughed as he grabbed the pillow out of her hands this time and threw it down on the floor.

He rolled over until he was on top of her, but he held his body up with his arms. He took careful note of how her eyes quickly widened, her heart started to beat irregularly fast, her eyes looked anywhere but in his, and he realized that she must feel it too.

"Damon..." Elena started to say but he cut her off by putting his finger to her lips.

"You can push me off if you want." He said raising his eyebrows as if to dare her to go for it.

Elena rolled her eyes, glanced up at him one last time, then grabbed a hold of his hip bone pushing him back over next to her - he willingly fell back onto the bed.

The two of them sat there in silence for a few moments. Elena’s head was filled with thoughts of Damon. He was so close, and all she could think about was how she wanted him to be that close to her again. She felt her skin heat up and her heart beat faster while he was on top of her. She had the urge to close the small amount of distance that was left between them so that there was none, she had the undeniable urge to press her lips against his. Her thoughts were scaring her.

She glanced over at Damon who was staring up at the ceiling most likely lost in his thoughts as well. He was beautiful, which was a weird word to use for men but he really was. His hair was a perfect raven black color, his eyes were the brightest blue and ever since the very first time she looked into them she got lost in them, his lips looked soft and pink.

She shook herself out of her thoughts when she realized she was staring at him.

“I’m sorry,” He said, “I shouldn’t have done that.”

“It’s okay.” She whispered back as she began to imagine what his lips would feel like on hers.

Caroline was about to reply to Kol's request to take her out for breakfast, as friends, when she heard Tyler's voice downstairs, he was talking to her mom and would soon be coming up the stairs and into the room that she was in with Kol. Her eye's widened as she began to panic.

"Tyler's here!" She shouted out loudly, she pointed at Kol, "You need to hide, he'll overreact if he sees you." She said throwing her hands around wildly then pointing towards the closet.

Kol shook his head, "I'm not hiding in there, I'd love to meet your boyfriend." He started to say as she walked over and pushed him in the direction of the closet.

"I'm sure he'd love to punch you in the face." She informed him.

Kol just stood there, "I'm not scared of him." He said standing his ground.

Caroline realized something at that moment, she wasn't stronger than him, she hadn't been able to move him even an inch. She raised her eyebrows, "Well, Mr. Vampire you can either get in that closet or get in a fight with my werewolf boyfriend!" She shouted, she was assuming things but there was no other explanation.

Kol's mouth dropped open in shock then walked into the closet that Caroline had opened the door to.

"We will talk about this after he leaves." She whispered before shutting the door.

Caroline put on a fake smile as Tyler walked in her room, "Hey Ty." She said maybe a bit too excitedly.

"Hey, I just came to see how you were doing, Bonnie told me you were worried that I didn't want to be with you." He said looking at her suspiciously.

Caroline started to think of ways that she could get that witch who she called her best friend back for doing something like that. She was probably worried after what happened last night with the two guys and when one of the brothers were hiding in her closet at that moment - she couldn't really blame Bonnie for worrying.

"It's just, we've been arguing a lot and I thought maybe we should take a break, just be friends until things calm down." She said shrugging helplessly.

Tyler's eyes widened, "You don't want to be with me?" His voice was getting louder now, he was getting angry. Ever since Tyler accidentally killed that girl and triggered the werewolf curse, he's been getting angry really easily.

"I want to be with you, I do." Caroline said but her eyes were on the ground, she couldn't look at him. Did she want to be with him? She didn't want to lose him, but their relationship wasn't a good relationship to be in anymore. Of course they both had reasons to be angry, and she shouldn't get upset when he yells all the time but she wasn't happy with him.

"Then what's the problem?" He asked walking closer to her now.

"I think we should just take a break until you get used to the whole being a werewolf thing." She mumbled quietly, she was hoping he would understand but hoping for that was like picking a needle out of a hay stack, Tyler wasn't willing to understand anything now days.

"When you say a break, how long do you mean exactly?" He asked, so he was willing to work this out, she wasn't sure if that was because he wanted to make things work between them or if he wanted a break from her too. She couldn't blame him for wanting a break from her as well, she wasn't always easy to be around.

"A week." She squeaked out her voice barley a whisper now.

"Okay." He said as he leaned in closer to her, he hesitated but then kissed her quickly on the cheek before walking out of her room.

Caroline waited until she heard the front door close then breathed out quickly before making her way over to her closet. She opened the door and Kol just stood there staring down at her, she was fighting off the tears that wanted to poor out. She just wanted to be alone but at the same time she didn't want him to leave.

"The breakfast offer is still there." He offers, as he stands awkwardly half in and half out of the closet.

"Can we just stay here and watch a movie or something?" She asks, "I don't really want to go anywhere right now."

Kol nodded understandingly, "Sure." He walked out of the closet, "What ever you want."

Elena sat in the kitchen on one of the stools - Damon was sitting on one as well, he was eating eggs which he had made for the two of them, Elena had a plate full of food in front of her but she couldn't bring herself to eat any of it. Not that it didn't look good, it looked delicious, but she just wasn't in the mood.

Damon glanced over at her, "I can start looking for Stefan today, if you're okay to be by yourself." He told her as he finished up the last bit of eggs on his plate and took a bite of his bacon.

"There's no need to look for him." She paused as she stole a piece of bacon off of his plate and ate it. "This is really good!" She said smiling at him, Damon just rolled his eyes then looked at her seriously.

"Why is there no need to look for him?" He questioned, he never thought he'd hear Elena say something like that.

"If he gets over himself and comes back then that means he came back for me, I'm not going to make you go searching for him because there's a slight possibility that he doesn't want to be found." She mumbled the last part as she ate the rest of her stolen piece of bacon.

Damon stared at her for a second before saying, "He'll come back eventually."

Elena just nodded as she stared down at her still completely full plate of scrambled eggs.

"So what do you want to do today?" He asked as he picked up his plate and walked it over to the sink. He considered washing it but figured he would do it later.

"I don't know." She shrugged her shoulders before handing her plate over to him, "I'm not hungry." She explained and he just shrugged it off then put the plate in the fridge.

Kol glanced over at Caroline, the two of them were laying down on her bed watching some chick flick that he didn't even know the name of. He couldn't help but stare at her - she was stunning as his brother had pointed out the other night at the Mystic Grill. She had curly blond hair and a bright smile that never failed to make him smile back when she showed it to him.

He began to wonder how such a beautiful girl could possibly be a vampire, he also wondered how long she had been a vampire - she couldn't be very old, she was most likely the same age as when she got turned, but who turned her; who would do that to this girl who most likely would have had a wonderful future ahead of her?

He was caught off guard when her eyes looked away from the tv and met his.

"What are you staring at?" She asked giggling slightly.

"I was just wondering who turned you." Kol shrugged his shoulders as he stared at her awaiting an answer.

"Katherine, you most likely know who she is because apparently almost every vampire does." Caroline said as she rolled her eyes, then picked up the remote pausing the movie.

Kol's eyes widened right away, Katherine; his ex girlfriend. Katherine turned this wonderful girl who had a bright future ahead of her into a vampire. He began to imagine the great future the girl could of had; even though he barley knew the girl he could tell she was very smart and she would most likely get into a great college after high school, he also knew she was very beautiful so she would end up marrying a great mean and grow old with him. But Katherine took that all away from her, and he knew for sure that bitch couldn't of had a very good reason to do so.

Caroline stared at him and watched carefully as his hands clinched into fists then quickly flattened out as he put his head in his hands.

"So you do know her?" She asked curiosity getting the best of her.

"I know her way too well, I dated her and trust me she's not any less of a manipulative bitch when you call yourself her boyfriend." He said loudly.

Now it was Caroline's turn to be shocked, "How could you date..." She started to say but then stopped when she realized why, it was the same reason so many guys were obsessed with Elena, "Because she's hot." She mumbled under her breath.

Kol rolled his eyes, "Yes she's obviously hot but her personality is disgusting once you get to know the real her." He said just getting even more angry as the conversation went on.

The two of them sat there in silence for awhile until Kol calmed down and asked, "Why did she turn you?"

Caroline laughed, "Oh she didn't plan on me being a vampire; She wanted to kill me but I just happened to have vampire blood in my system."

That left Kol even more confused than before, "Why the hell did she want to kill you?" He shouted loudly.

"Calm down, you're gonna make my mom come upstairs if you keep yelling and trust me that's not a very good idea because if you haven't noticed already she's the sheriff of this town." Caroline let out a sigh then began to answer his question, "She just did it to send a message, a warning, to the Salvatore Brothers; so that they wouldn't get in her way."

Kol was about to start yelling that he was going to kill Katherine for doing such a thing but then he realized how ridiculous that would sound, he barley knew this girl.

"Oh." Was all he managed to get out at first but then he continued talking, "I'm sorry she did that to you." He mumbled under his breath.

"So how old are you, really?" She asked to change the topic but also because she was curious.

Kol's lips quickly turned up into a smirk, "If I told you my age you would be completely freaked out, so let's save that conversation for another time and continue watching what ever movie we were watching."

Caroline considered trying to get him to tell her but she figured he would tell her eventually anyway so she just clicked play on the remote then turned towards him, "By the way, I know your eyes were on me during the entire movie and not on the screen."

Kol's eyebrows rose slightly, "You're way more interesting to watch than any movie I've ever seen."

Caroline laughed but she couldn't help the fact that the smile on her face wouldn't disappear after she laughed and her cheeks were a rosy pink color, "Nice pick up line." She told him and he just rolled his eyes then turned his attention towards the TV so that she wouldn't see the smile that was on his face as well.

After the movie ended Kol told Caroline that he had to head home because he didn't tell anyone where he was going when he left - she teased him about being a twelve year old boy who had to be home in time for dinner - they laughed and said goodbye.

He couldn't help but smile when he thought about how close they had gotten already, Caroline really was something special, she was so much more than a distraction from Katherine because she was so much more than Katherine.

Kol’s smile quickly disappeared as he walked into the living room of the house he shared with his brother and sister. They both stared at him as he walked in, it was as if he was indeed late for dinner.

“Where have you been all day?” His brother asked as he stood up from the chair he was sitting on and walked towards him. Kol looked at his sister for help but she was too busy looking at herself in the silly little mirror she used to do her make up.

Kol considered lying but realized that there really was no point - Klaus could be jealous if he wanted to be, “With Caroline.” Kol smiled when he said her name and he watched carefully as Rebekah’s attention turned towards him when he said a girl’s name.

“You have been spending time with a girl?” she asked her mouth hanging open.

“If you don’t close your mouth bugs are going to fly in.” Kol teased then turned his attention back towards his brother as he said, “Yes, I’ve been hanging out with Caroline, me and Nik met her at the grill the other night when we went out for a drink, she’s stunning, isn’t she Nik?” He wasn’t able to keep the proud smile off of his face.

“I thought we agreed that your dibs was irrelevant and it would be up to the girl who she wanted to be with.” Klaus said his voice rising slightly as he got angry at his younger brother.

Kol just laughed then turned away from Klaus as his sister started to talk, “You two, obsessed with the same human girl, this reminds me way too much of the Salvatore Brothers.” she said rolling her eyes at the two of them.

Kol’s face turned serious, “She’s not human.” He muttered under his breath, that certainly caught both of his siblings off guard.

“What do you mean, not human?” Klaus asked his eyes wide but not from shock, from anger.

“Oh, don’t worry, I didn’t turn her.” He said chuckling at his brother’s assumption, “She knows the Salvatore brothers, I’m guessing that’s the reason she had vampire blood in her system when Katherine killed her.” He said his face completely serious.
Klaus thought his brother had to be playing a prank on him but after a few moments he realized that Kol was being completely serious, "Katherine really tends to mess everything up." Klaus mumbled before exiting the room.

Kol raised his eyebrows as he stared at his brother's back, he didn't even notice that his sister was walking towards him until she stood right in front of him.

"So, This Caroline girl." She said pausing for a second as she smiled at him, "When do I get to meet her?"

Kol smirked at her, "I'm kind of stuck in the friend zone right now so it might be awhile."

Rebekah laughed at her brother, "Kol, you could just compel the girl we are originals after all."

He shook his head right away, he would never do that to her, he couldn't do that to her. If he was going to be with her, he wanted it to be real. But he couldn't say that out loud - he couldn't admit that to his sister with out getting made fun of so he raised his eyebrows then left the room as well.

I will be participating in Camp NanoWriMo this August!
I'm not sure why I'm doing this but these were my thoughts when I signed up:
- What the hell am I getting myself into
- Is it even possible for me to write 50,000 words in a month?
- I think I've finally lost it, I'm insane.

I tried to come up with an original idea for my novel but when I write something original I tend to get tired of my idea. For example: I attempted Camp Nano in June as well and I failed horribly because I got tired of the idea I came up with and my story about a boy who can see ghosts quickly turned into a story about a gay boy who likes a straight boy and then they go on a road trip together.

But this year I started preparing a month ahead of time! I decided that I'm going to write a fanfiction story because like they say;

And so I'm writing a fanfic about my favorite television show 'The Vampire Diaries' I'm obsessed with vampires so this is the perfect story for me to write and not get tired of what I'm writing about!

I'm also obsessed with a character in 'The Vampire Diaries' Well...I'm obsessed with all of the characters but there's one that wins the best fictional character ever award and that is 'Damon Salvatore' I love to explore his life story, his emotions, how he has trouble controlling his emotions as well as his blood lust and his love for one little human girl; Elena Gilbert who happens to be dating his younger brother. His personality is also perfection, like you seriously have no idea how perfect this man with bright blue eyes and black hair is until you watch the television show.

I've been outlining, writing down ideas, doing research on Mystic Falls, finding facts such as the different spells witches can do, finding out the weaknesses and powers of vampires and basically everything you can think of in order to prepare for Nano which is in about a week from today! I'm ready to write 50,000 words next month. I CAN DO THIS!
